Devoted husband of 47 years to Michele Rose Kramer, loving and proud Father to Christina Michele Kramer and Scott James Kramer, loving Father-in-law to Caroline Belle Kramer, and adoring Pop-Pop to Abigail Belle Kramer.
Butch was the loving son of the late Dolores and Melvin Kramer of Essex, Maryland.
Butch is loved and survived by his sisters Brenda Markel, Debbie Schaffer and the late Linda Ford. Butch was Brother-in-law to Jeff Schaffer, George Markel, Danny LaPenna, Karen LaPenna, Carole Vaillancourt and the late David Vaillancourt, Annette Slivinsky and the late Joesph Slivinsky, the late Thomas LaPenna and Susan LaPenna. Butch has numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Butch was raised in Essex, Maryland and was a 1968 graduate of Kenwood High School. He answered the call to service by joining the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam as a U.S. Army Ranger and Military Policeman (MP). He rose to the rank of Sergeant and was valiantly awarded for bravery and courage in the face of danger. His awards include the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, and numerous medals for his actions in Vietnam.
Butch was Michele’s high school sweetheart and they met while Michele was in tenth grade on a blind date setup by her sister Annette. It was truly love at first sight.
Butch and Michele were married on June 1, 1973, the day Michele graduated from nursing school.
Butch started working in the food industry and quickly rose to head buyer of B.GREEN food distributor.
Butch was so successful that he created his own company, Prospector Sales Inc. which became a million dollar business where he bought and sold food and other assorted goods.
Butch loved bowling with his children, baseball, and playing with his children and grandchild. He loved music, architecture, politics, business, the sound of the ocean, and playing with his son’s dog, Hopey. He traveled the country and the world. He supported many charitable causes, including St. Jude, Shriner’s, St. Vincent, meals for needy families, and Meals and Wheels in honor of beloved sister, Linda. He always gave back to his community.
All of us that knew Butch knew he was a kind and caring man who looked after the ones he loved-his family and friends. He always thought about his family and friends before himself. We miss him everyday but know that he is with us, now and forever in our hearts.
