On February 4, 2023, Joan C. Burton Weitzel (nee Johnson) passed away. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Burton, Sr., and the late Jack Weitzel; devoted mother of Bonnie Dubbs (Keith), Robert E. Burton, Jr. (Sue), Linda Papadimitriou (Manny), the late Audie Burton, and the late Carol Richards (Ron); cherished grandmother of Tiffanie Crouse (Nick), Shawn Dubbs (Taylor), Tyler Dubbs (Hope), Bobby Burton (Beth), Sarah Burton (Colin), Tim Butler, Justin Butler (Jessica), Audie Burton, Brant Burton, and Donald Burton; loving great-grandmother of Elias Butler; beloved daughter of the late Amon and Lucy Johnson; dear sister of Ed Johnson, Irene Harmony, and the late Woody Johnson.
Joan loved being a farmer’s wife. She loved pink and wore it as often as she could. She loved to shop and enjoyed chocolate along with the occasional McDonalds breakfast. She loved being surrounded by flowers. She spent hours enjoying the Hallmark channel and old cowboy movies. Christmas was her favorite holiday, but she celebrated family birthdays with equal joy calling to sing happy birthday to that person on their special day. Joan was very fond of dining out with Pappas and Wellwood being two of her favorite restaurants. She loved long drives in the country and Saubel's doughnuts. She enjoyed musical theater and live entertainment and went as often as she could. She greatly cherished her faith in God. Above all else she loved family and the time she spent with them. To Joan you were one of her children, no matter how you became a part of the family, and she treated all her family with the love, affection, and devotion of a proud parent.
