On February 24, 2017, Jerry Egan joined his Heavenly Father in glory. He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Sue Egan; devoted father of Donnie Bare (Wendy), Kelly Billing, the late Wayne Caricofe, Kevin Egan (Dana), and Roger Caricofe. He was the dear brother of George Egan (Carol), Barbara Goodhues (the late Barry), and Bill Egan (Beverly). He was the loving Pop-Pop of Will Bare, Colleen and Matt Billing, Sweet Caroline, Katharine the Great, and The Life of Reilly Egan. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and an extraordinary number of very close friends.
A graduate of University of Baltimore, Jerry started selling medical supplies and became an Independent Manufacturers’ Representative, founding Egan Sales Associates where his son, Kevin, has joined him for the past 30 years. Deeply respected amongst his peers and associates, his impact in the field will be remembered for years to come.
Jerry loved working in and around his beautiful home, and could regularly be seen outside tending to his gardens and lawn. However, Jerry’s true devotion and immense love was for his family and his large circle of friends. A proud Irishman, he could spin a tale better than anyone and took great pleasure in making his beloved family and friends smile. Jerry’s quick wit was unsurpassed and his hearty, infectious laugh quickly drew others near his side. His incredible sense of humor and perfect timing made him the best at telling a joke and his crowd of listeners were always left in stitches.
Jerry freely gave of himself to others and his endless compassion and kindness earned him the love and admiration of everyone who knew him. He opened his heart to others, and as a result, touched the life of every person he met, brightened every room that he entered, and will be forever missed.
