Ginnie Lepinsky Soriano

On May 23, 2022 Ginnie Lepinsky Soriano, of Bel Air, MD passed away. She is the loved wife of Dennis Soriano; devoted mother of Zoe (Geordan Neukum), Skyler Soriano (Rob Donaldson), Siggy, Daxton, Emerson Soriano and her 21 hermit crabs; cherished daughter of Boon Chuay Lepinsky and James John Lepinsky II; dear sister of the late Supranee (David) Schleider, James (Karla) John Lepinsky III and William Lepinsky; adored daughter-in-law of Dolores and the late Angel Soriano; beloved aunt of three nieces and two nephews; best friend of Angie Gackstetter; loving grandmother of cats Luna, Sangria, Eggs, and Cheesecake.

Born in Bangkok, Thailand on a US Military base, she was the daughter of Boon Chuay Lepinsky and James John Lepinsky II. She graduated from Fort Meade High School and later attended Towson University. She worked as a small business owner and created goods for hermit crabs owners at her Etsy shop, Hobo Hermie.

She enjoyed creating ceramics, watching C-list horror movies and using her interior decorating skills to create a beautiful home for her human family and a sanctuary for her hermit crab babies. She will be remembered for her ability to make friends with anymore, her kindness, and her maximalist boho style. She advocated for hermit crabs as being considered mental health companions. She believed that caring for hermit crabs helped her through her own personal loss. She loved to travel and enjoyed going to the beach with the love of her life and collecting maps of all the places she had been. Her heart was so big and always put her children first.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, 6/4/2022 at 4pm to 6 pm (viewing), with the services starting at 6 pm at Schimunek Funeral Home, 610 W. MacPhail Road, Bel Air, MD 21014.
