So sorry to hear this Don and I were good friends and drinking buddies at the IDLE HOUR in Essex , a great man , he moved to Arlington and we never hung out after that

Don was the best neighbor  and friend you could ask for. He was always willing  to do anything for you and your family at a moments notice. He brought our neighborhood closer and created a bond with people that you don’t see much anymore. We moved to our small neighborhood 11 years ago and like most of the community Don was the first one to greet and welcome you. He always invited you over for the Blackmon cookouts, crab feast, and bonfires that we always filled with smiles and laughs. My wife and I got to watch his children grow and we would always admire what a family man he was and how great they turned out. Don would always say “ it’s all about the kids “. It didn’t matter how much time or money he had. There was always a reason to get together and celebrate friends and family. We loved that about him. When Lindsey and I had kids he was so happy for us and my daughter was always so excited to see him. She always looked out the window for his fire going so we could stop over which usually started with “want a beer?”  We are going to miss seeing him in the yard on his tractor with the family and hearing Aaron Lewis, AC/DC, or Ozzy playing across the valley. We are going to miss him but are lucky to have known him. Rest easy buddy.

I was fortunate to meet Don when we were working at Martin Marietta in our younger days. We worked in different areas but that didn’t stop us becoming very tight. We spent a lot of time together outside of work and it’s probably a good thing people didn’t have camera phones then. Don introduced me to his girl Michelle and I knew this was for good. We drifted apart for many years and out of the blue he reached out to me and told me about an opportunity at NGC and I’m  grateful  he did. I’m sorry I didn’t get to know Auburn and Donald personally although Don spoke of his family often ,they meant everything to him. Don was always willing to help anyone out at work and many came asking. Miss you my friend.


I met Don when I started working at Northrop in September. He was one of the very first people to speak to me and he quickly became one of my favorites. He was a goofball and could make anyone laugh. He was a great friend for the short amount of time I got to have him in my life.  He was one of the most genuine people I have met and he will be missed immensely. My condolences to his family, who he talked about so often. 

On behalf of IUE/CWA Local 82130 Officers and Executive Board, we wish to send our Deepest Sympathy to Don's wife, family and many friends.  Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.  Don was a wonderful friend and supported our Union Brothers and Sisters as a shop steward.  We will truly miss him.  God Bless you and your family.  

Don was one of the best co-workers to be around . He would help either at work or on personal projects .  A couple of things he did was to turn me on to  BROOMS BLUM ice cream &  Wilson farm pie store ,having trouble loosing weight because of that . Don will be missed . I meet Don back in the late 80’s at Martin Marietta, he had the greatest gift of fellowship and could talk with anyone regardless of their beliefs or views. When I came to Northrop and I saw him here we immediately hit it off at where we left. Such a good guy who loved his family. 
Don is now at peace. My prayers are to his family, Michelle, Auburn, and Donald, May you find peace in your day and days ahead. Continue his joys and love he had for you and each other.

I’ve known Don his entire 14 years at Northrop Grumman. From day 1 he was quite a character. He was one of the friendliest guy’s I’ve ever met. He was the best damn repair people we had. He didn’t hesitate to help anyone who needed it. He spoke his mind no matter the subject and didn’t care about the consequences. But the one thing I will remember him most for is he would do anything for you. He loved his family with all his heart. Michelle, Auburn and Donald, my deepest sympathies for your loss. There will never be another like him. Don, Godspeed Brother! Tip one back with JC! You will be immensely missed!!

I met Don around 2004 when he was working for a supplier for Northrop Grumman.  A few hours after that, I offered him employment at Northrop.  He was one of the most competent mechanics I knew.  I became very close to him at work.  I came to depend on him all the time.  It will be impossible to replace him.  His ingenuity was remarkable.  He could fix almost anything.  The entire factory sent their repairs to his attention.  He may be gone, but he will be remembered by those who worked with him for a very long time.  All of us here at Northrop Grumman will remember him for years to come.  My sympathy goes out to his wife and children your husband and father will be missed. 

I met Don at Northrop Grumman in 2005 while on loan to the infamous "Wedgetail" antenna effort.  I knew within seconds that this guy was character and going to be a blast to work with.  He did not disappoint.  He was live entertainment every day.  I've always felt like those of us who worked on that project formed a kind of bond in mutual strife, but I related to Don most of all.  We had the same sense of humor, taste in music and interests that kept a conversation going.  He was also one of the few that really took time to help me with a repair or rescue me from a bad development during an install.  16 years later, even though we no longer worked together, our friendship only grew.  A true comrade and confidant and always a blast to hang out with.  It still hasn't quite sunk in yet but when it does, I'm going to miss him VERY much.  My sincerest condolences to Michelle, Auburn and Donald Jr.  All the pictures alone show how much he loved you.  As much as he means to me, I can barely imagine your loss.  May God help you find peace and comfort and solace in Don's beautiful memory. 

I worked with Don at NG for several years.  He was my "go to" guy when I had difficult issues that needed resolved.  While it was great to have him at NG for that reason, my favorite part was visiting with him to talk.  Our talks always revolved around family and how proud he was of his kids and how much he loved them and Michelle.  Sometimes we talked about the dogs too.   I will miss our talks so much.  I pray his family finds peace in knowing how much he loved them and how proud he was of them.  

I started working at Northrop Grumman in January of 2020. Not knowing much about machining or assembly work, Don took me under his wing and taught me a lot of valuable information. He was my go-to guy for any problems, advice, or if I was having a bad day, he always had a wild and crazy story that made things better.  He loved his family more than anything and always shared things they all did together.  Don was one of my first friends at the facility and I will never forget him. May he rest easy and continue to “rock on” in the afterlife.

We are so very sad to learn of Don's passing.  Often we think of all of you. During this very difficult time please know you're in our thoughts and prayers. He loved each of you so much.

We had many good times, either on boats or backyard parties. You will be missed my friend. Prayers to your family.

Michelle, Auburn and Donald—-you are in my thoughts and prayers. This is so unbelievable and I cant even imagine the loss you are feeling. You all can find comfort in the love Donald had for all of you—-everyone knew his family was first and he loved you so much. We were friends from Kindergarten up and it didnt matter how much time passed, it was always as if we had just seen each other— he was always that way. Praying for Gods comfort for you as you go from day to day.

Michelle, I am so saddened by the news of Don’s passing. He was a great friend and a truly remarkable man. My prayers go out to you and your children. He’s in Gods hands now and will be forever looking out for you. 

Don was such a family man,and so kind & loving to his neighbors. We will miss seeing the fire barrel burning,and the grill a cooking. I'm sure going to miss his hand in the air waving hello eveytime I come down my driveway. R I P ,my friend.
