Clyde graduated from New Brunswick High School in New Jersey, continuing on to Virginia Union University with a full athletic scholarship- majoring in Psychology. Clyde then joined the Army, 101st Airborne, serving in the Korean War.
Upon Clyde's return from Military Service he married his High school sweetheart, Shirley May Raddles, in August 1957. They bore 3 children Lori Michele Dixon-Cummings, Clyde Jeffrey Dixon and Derek Tyrone Dixon. Clyde worked and retired from Johnson & Johnson in South Brunswick N.J. as a Supervisor. Clyde was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Shirley.
Clyde was the only child born to Marian Thomas and Philip Dixon, and leaves behind his first cousins Richard (Cookie) Thomas, Lular (Tina) Thomas and Louise (Chris) Thomas.
Clyde was affectionately known as Pop-Pop to his twelve grandchildren: Courtney, Candace, Cristyn, Jeffrey, Dominique, Ashlee, Paige, Shadae, Ashley, Jada, Justin and Nyla, along with a host of great grand children and friends.
Known as "Mr.Clyde" and "The Mayor" in New Brunswick and Somerset NJ areas, his presence will be sorely missed.
The Dixon family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for any condolences and all expressions of sympathy extended to them during this time of bereavement.
