Charles E. Lough, Jr.
93, passed away May 22, 2014. He was born in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late Charles E. Lough Sr. and Florence E. Lough. He was a World War II veteran serving in the 2nd Engineer Combat Battalion and fought in the D Day plus one invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Charles worked 45 years at Allison, a Division of General Motors. He was married on April 14, 1943 to Rita M. Lough.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, his four children: Teresa A. (Fred) Haumesser, Catherine A. Lough, Charles Edward (Diane) Lough III, and Thomas J. (Deanne) Lough, his eight grandchildren: Fred M. Haumesser, Brian Haumesser, Ryan Berner, Christina Berner, Jason Lough, Lindsey Beyer, Natalie McKinney, Eric Lough, and his nine great-grandchildren: Heidi, Henry, Wesley, Ashlee, Samantha, Tyler, Camden, Grant, Nolan. He is preceded in death by his sisters Ruth Kroening and Elva Crawford, and brother Doyle Lough. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 27th at Little and Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel from 4:00-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 28th at 10:00 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
