Steve Arnold Goins

Steve Arnold Goins, 69, of Lanark, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Charleston Area Medical Center due to complications from a sinus surgery. Born September 16, 1946 in Fayette County, he was the son of Magaline Ramsey Goins of Piney View and the late Arlie Goins, Sr. Steve was a long-time employee of AEEI of Beckley. He attended Piney View Bible Church and Grace Community Church. Steve was a 1964 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. In addition to his father, Arlie Goins, Sr., he is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Smith Goins; brother, Lewis Goins; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Goins. Steve is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda McClanahan Goins of Lanark; son, Stephan Goins of Piney View; step son, Robert Adkins of Meadow Bridge; step daughter, Melissa Adkins, at home; mother, Magaline Goins of Piney View; sisters, Rose McDaniel of Oak Hill, and Daisie Redden and husband Paul of Piney View; brother, Arlie “Barney” Goins and wife Linda of Beckley, precious grandson, Brent Goins of Piney View; three nieces, four nephews and a host of special friends, neighbors and co-workers. Friends may gather with the family Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 11am-1pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 1 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Cecil Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with family and friends to serve as pallbearers.
