Sharon Ann Armentrout Johnson, 84 of Beckley, West Virginia passed Tuesday August 16, 2022 in Beckley West Virginia after a short illness.
Born September 5, 1937 in Cirtsville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Adoulia Cooper Armentrout.
Sharon was the last of her seven siblings to pass. She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Leslea Sweeney.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Valinda Newman (Moe) of Beckley, West Virginia; sons, Brian Lafferty (Andrea) of Vinton, Virginia, Aaron Lafferty (Kim) of Bentonville Arkansas. She was the granny to Stacie, Courtney, Linzie, Taylor, Ellison, Mackenzie and Tucker. She was the great-granny to Delanie, Brodie, Landrie and Ezra, also the great-great-granny to Ryden and Ryla; extended family, Terry, Alisa, Ronnie, Patti and their families.
Sharon moved to Pulaski, Virginia in 1977 where she resided for over 40 years. For the last few years she has lived with her daughter, Valinda Newman in Beckley where she was able to enjoy her life to the fullest with family and friends until she passed.
Sharon had a passion for the finer things in life. She loved to travel with her late companion Al Morton. She also loved to paint and play the piano. She has traveled to almost all 50 states and there wasn’t bus tour she passed up.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 19th, 2022 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Roger E. Pauley officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Roger Armentrout, Butch Painter, Joseph James, Bryan Meier, Adam Painter and Michael Painter.
Friends may gather with the family Friday from 10 – 11 AM at the funeral home.
