Ray G. (Mickey) Dickinson, 92, of Meadow Bridge, WV passed away September 27, 2024. Mickey was born in Beards Fork, West Virginia on September 23, 1932 and will be forever loved and cherished by his family and friends.
During his senior year of high school, Mickey voluntarily joined the Air Force. He later returned to Pax High School to complete his education. It was there that he began to pursue the love of his life, Patricia Lively. He followed her to Cleveland as a merchant marine and they were married shortly after sharing the next 68 years together.
Mickey was devoted husband and father. As a 30-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union (IBEW, Local 313), he worked hard as an electrician, but we all knew him as a “jack of all trades.” He truly inspired the “can-do” attitude in everyone he met. In retirement he enjoyed wood-working, working outdoors and had a true passion for NASCAR, college football and the NBA.
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, James and Virginia Dickinson, his brothers Jack, Herman, and James (Pax, West Virginia), Bus Dickinson (Tucson, Arizona); his sisters, Emma Dickinson (Charleston, West Virginia), Eileen Lively (Beckley, West Virginia) and Geraldine Webb (Pax, West Virginia).
Ray (Mickey) and Patricia (Trish) are survived by their 4 children, Lisa Rae Kimmel (Lewes, Delaware), Chris Regan (Glasgow, Delaware), James Eric, (Georgetown, Delaware); and Scott Douglas (Gayle) Dickinson, (Pax, West Virginia) and his brother, Gene Waller (Rose) (Fayetteville, North Carolina); as well as 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces and their families.
Grandchildren: Brian (Jessica) Thomas, Kelli (Chris) Willoughby, Scott (Christy)Dickinson, Shawn (Lisa) Dickinson, Michael Dickinson, Matthew (Christina) Dickinson, siblings Lisa and Kyle Dickinson.
Great-grandchildren: Jeffrey, Cole, Lila, Lively, Charleigh; Henry, Nora, Jack, Jude, Kaylee, Aden, and Nathen.
A memorial service for Ray will be held on Saturday, October 19th, from 1-4 pm at the Long Branch United Methodist Church Auxiliary, Paint Creek Rd, Pax, WV. A graveside service will be held at Pax Cemetery for both Ray and Patricia immediately following the memorial service.
The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to Homes for Our Troops USA, www.hfotusa.org.
