Lynne Marie “Ware” Elliott, of Oak Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Bowers Hospice House following a long illness.
Born September 18, 1951 in Charleston, WV; she was a daughter of the late Howard Ware and the late Jewell Cavender Ware.
Lynne was raised in the Methodist Faith and later attended the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church; she loved shopping collecting Waterford Crystal, jewelry, and working in her flower garden when she was able.
Lynne was a Elementary and Middle School Teacher at several schools in Raleigh County until her retirement following 37 years of dedicated service to her students. Lynne also enjoyed her second career as a counselor at both BARH Behavioral Health Center and Cherry Hill Shelter where she offered caring and wise counseling to all in need.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 22 years, Dennis Elliott of Oak Hill; a sister, Jennifer Ware of Ratcliff, KY; sister-in-law, Theresa Arthur and husband, James “Jim” of Beaver; nephews, Matthew J. Waitkus of Columbus, OH, James E. Arthur “Jay” and wife, Amy of Morgantown, and Matt Arthur of Pittsburgh, PA; step children, Doug Elliott and wife, Michelle of Durham, NC and Mellissa Beckwith and husband, Vinsen of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Hannah Tracy and husband, Will and their two children of Durham, NC, Blaine Beckwith and wife, Victoria of Durham, NC, Casey Elliott, and Caylee Elliott of Warrenton, NC; extended family; and a host of friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Lynne Marie “Ware” Elliott will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Mike King of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church officiating. Following the services, Lynne will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may gather with the family from 1:00PM until time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the management and staff at Beckley Regional Health Care and Dr. Hasan and all the staff that was involved with her care, the management and staff of Best Ambulance Service, and DaVita Dialysis Center who took such wonderful care for her over the last 5 years of her life.
