Lewis loved to hunt, fish, and to bowl when his health permitted; he was an avid gardener and a WVU fan. He loved spending time with his family.
Lewis proudly served his country in the United States Army, and served in Vietnam.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Clay Hurd, Jr; and a sister, Connie Meade.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Duncan of Coal City; a son, Lewis Clay Duncan, III and wife, Linda of Winfield; a daughter, Cindy Carol Jeffery and husband, David of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Logan Jeffery, Desirae Reynolds, Aaron Slater, and Leasa Slater; great-grandchildren, Bradley Reynolds, Isabella Matheney, Dustin Lee Slater, and Rose Michelle Slater; three sisters, Alice Rice and husband, Jerry of Coal City, WV, Rose Ryan of Maryland, and Annabelle Fink and husband, Jim of Maryland; extended family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Lewis Clay Duncan, Jr will be held from 1:00PM until 3:00PM Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. With Veterans Military Honors being conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard at 3:00PM.
