Larry Lee Welch

Larry Lee Welch, 76 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Montgomery General Hospital. Born on January 7, 1942 in Pineyview, WV, he was the son of the late Lacey Welch, Sr. and Clara Ellen Whiting Crouch.

Larry loved to hunt, fish and just enjoyed the outdoors. He was baptized at Pineyview Baptist Church and served in the United States Army during the Eisenhower administration. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He would do anything for any one and all those who knew Larry, loved him. Larry will truly be missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Welch, Jr.; and brothers, Richard Smith and G.W. Grogan.

He is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Iona Mae Hicks Welch; daughter, Terri Campbell and her husband, Ben; grandchildren, Brian Kelly and his wife, Michelle, and Shannon Hughart and her husband, Nick; great-grandchildren, Kazlyn, Ryder and Izzy; half-sister, Patricia Ellen Motley; half-brother, Lacey Welch; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday morning, July 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Miller officiating. At their request, the family will receive friends for a few moments following the service.

Burial will be held in the Tower Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
