Mr. John L Woody

John L. Woody 70 of Shady Spring passed away January 2, 2015, at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness. Born April 2, 1944 at Fireco, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Rich and Olive Sisk Woody.

John was a former employee of Wilcox until 1970, when he became disabled.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by sister, Shirley Meadows and brothers, Franklin, Charles, and Donald Woody.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Gloria Woody; daughters, Lisa Woody and Kim Woody-Holbrook; grandson/son, Joshua and wife Jessica Biggs, granddaughters, Amber and husband Eric Warden, Nicole and husband, Jarred Garis; 6 great-grandchildren; Siblings, Joyce and husband Billy Miles of MS,Dale and wife Barbara Woody, of NC, Lee and wife Angie Meadows of NC, Rachel and husband George Blevins of NC, and several loving nieces and nephews, family, and close friends.

Services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday January 6, 2015 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, with Reverends Don’l and George Blevins officiating. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family from 1-2 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
