Harry David Honaker

Harry David Honaker, age 75, of Ameagle, WV, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House. Born on August 4, 1943 in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late James Perry Honaker and Hester Pritchard Honaker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and eight sisters. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol Walker Honaker; daughters, Lynn Honaker, and Sarah Wheeler and her husband, Matt; two grandchildren, Carrie Peaytt and Justin Peaytt; four great-grandchildren, Daniel Peaytt, Ava Peaytt, Noah Peaytt and Caroline Peaytt; sister, Juanita Jarrell; brothers, Jerry Honaker and his wife, Patty, Johnny Honaker and his wife, Sandra, Charles Douglas and his wife, Peggy and Jamie Douglas; many nieces and nephews; honorary granddaughter, Britiny Bailes; and special friends, Les and Sara Runion, and Clayton Wheeler.

Mr. Honaker was a Deacon at Colcord Presbyterian Church and a member of the United Mine Workers Association. He enjoyed woodworking and “Coca Cola” and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of the United States Army having been stationed at Ft. Eustis, VA during the Vietnam War.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Pauley officiating. Burial will follow the services in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
