Gary Wayne Spence Sr.

Gary was born to the late Stanley Spence and Rouie Bragg on Monday June 11,1956 in Sutton, WV

Gary was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Regina “Gino” Spence. His two sisters; Shirley Cook and Mildred Reed.

Those left to cherish Gary’s memory are his two sisters; Nancy McClellan, of Beckley, WV, Sue Coots of Beckley, WV, children; Gary (Lois) Spence of Tacoma, WA, Kelli (Jamie) Hanshaw of Oceana,WV , Nathan (Jessica) Spence of Oceana WV. Gary is also survived by his grandchildren; Chelsea, Chase, Caitlyn, Samuel, Alyssa, Kimi, Shaylee, Willow, Emily, Brooklyn, Ethan, Hunter, and Autumn, great grandchildren; Hudson and Zayn.

Gary served in the United States Navy for 21 years, retiring as a Senior Chief. After retirement, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in social services. He had a love for knowledge. He also enjoyed collecting cars, guns, knives, coins, and watches. He spent his latter years enjoying time with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

As keeping with Gary’s wishes he will be cremated.

Memorial service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 12:00pm.
