Floyd A Hazelwood

Floyd Allen Hazelwood “Sonny”, 72 of Beckley WV passed away at his daughters’ house in Florida on August 21, 2022. He was born April 10, 1950 in Corrine, WV. Floyd served in the US Navy for 22 years and afterwards he worked at Crossroads Mall as security and various jobs with Winterplace. His favorite pastime was enjoying being on his boat with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hobart and Betty Hazelwood and his grandson Nathaniel Hazelwood.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Nila Hazelwood; daughter, Barbara Parrish and her husband Carl; sons, James Hazelwood, and Steven Hazelwood and his wife Shannon, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; Brothers, Dennis Hazelwood and wife Joyce, and Gary Hazelwood; a sister, Sheila Perkins and her husband Thomas; and numerous extended family members and dear friends.

His services will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on August 29th, 2022 at 12PM with Pastor Cecil Smith officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10 AM until the time of the service. The burial will follow after at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
