Curtis Ray Plumley, Sr., 91 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, April 9th, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Beckley. Born on January 31, 1928 in Abraham, WV, he was the son of the late Elvie Plumley and Virgie Bennett Plumley.
Mr. Plumley was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed “ginseng”, working in his garden, and watching nature and some of God’s creations such as bears, deer and turkeys. He was a loving father and grandfather whom cherished his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta Virgie Bennett Plumley; sons, Larry Ray Bennett, Sr. and Gary Wayne Plumley; sister, Pauline Gill; and brothers, Russell Plumley, Benny Plumley, Clayton Plumley, Donald Plumley, Glennis Plumley and Clyde Plumley.
He is survived by his daughter, Daisy Moss (Leon); sons, Dennis Lee Plumley and Curtis Ray Plumley, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Darlene Plumley; grandchildren, Larry Ray Bennett, Jr. (Olivia), Sherri Sharp (Wade), Karen Sparks (James), Leon Moss Jr. (Karen), Rosetta “Dinie” Moss (Kevin) and Jay Moss (Debbie); nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Committal Service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Maynard Cemetery in Maple Fork, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
