At the early age of 17, Bobby began working in Mount Hope. He worked many years as an auto mechanic before returning to Mt. Hope working for the Housing Authority until his retirement in 1993.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Reba in July. He was also preceded by his parents Early and Alain, two sisters Melva and Eva, four brothers Buck, Ervin (Cotton), Frank and Benny. He is survived by two children, son Bobby Alderman of Mt. Hope and daughter Jeannette (Phillip) Humphrey of Packs Branch. Two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survived him.
Bobby was a member of Packs Branch Baptist Church. The happiest time of his life was when Bobby accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior on July 14, 1996.
Bobby was blessed with many home caregivers who assisted his daughter. Bobby spent the last three years of his life at Pine Lodge. The family would like to thank the home caregivers and the staff and administration at Pine Lodge for the excellent care they provided. The family is especially grateful to Dr. Jacob McNeel for many years of compassionate and competent healthcare.
A celebration of his life will be held at Packs Branch Baptist Church on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 1pm with Pastor Sam Vance officiating. Bobby will be laid to rest at Dock Lively Cemetery during a private family burial.
