Susan Anne Hughes

She was born on March 20, 1951 in Redding, CA to Vivian and Lynn Parker and grew up with her two sisters. Sue graduated from Enterprise High School and received her associate degree at Shasta College. As a teenager, she was a huge fan of The Beatles and attended several of their concerts in San Francisco.

Sue moved to Eugene, OR after her first marriage in 1972 and raised two daughters. She remarried on June 19, 1993 to Fred Hughes of Veneta, OR and stayed in the Eugene area with her extended family for over thirty years. Sue retired from Bethel School District in 2009. Sue and Fred moved to the Hillsboro area to be closer to grandchildren. She was a wonderful, caring wife, mom and grandma who loved to travel, listen to music, and relax at the beach or Shasta Lake.

Sue is survived by her husband, Fred Hughes of Hillsboro, OR; two daughters, Jennifer Bren and Amy Umphlett of Beaverton, OR; sister, Jeanne Schneider of Redding, CA; and many other close family and friends. She joins her mom, dad, and sisters Barbara Robertson and Donna Mahaffey.
