Joyce spent her last 6 months in their home with the assistance of Providence hospice. Growing up in the shadow of the Smoky Mts, Joyce graduated from Maryville High School in 1948 and worked at various jobs until marrying and settling in Liberty MO to raise two children. She worked various odd jobs in addition to being a mother & homemaker. After being widowed in 1981 and seeing her children off to college & graduate school, Joyce trained and became a cardiac monitor technician at Research Medical Center. She worked there several years before officially retiring in 1998. After a back injury in 2008 she moved to Oregon rehabbed and lived independently as a resident of Rock Creek Tanasbourne and then Beaverton Lodge.
She was known to be a great sports fan, a skilled BINGO player, and as always—lots of fun. She passed at her daughter’s home surrounded by family and grand-dogs. Online celebration of life will be in early February.
Joyce asks that you consider donating to your local food bank or take a lonely senior citizen to lunch.
