We are sad to share of Betty's passage to Heaven. She shared laughter, wisdom and loving advice until her final days. She will join her parents and siblings (Clarence and Eileen Brown, Jim, Joanne, Dorothy and Jerry). She leaves her children Joe Pires, Jenny Clements and Becky Martin; her grandchildren Josh and Sydney Martin, Colton and Chase Clements; siblings MaryPat Croak, Dan Brown, Kathy Powell, Pat Brown and Marilyn Dikeos, dozens of in-laws, nephews, nieces, friends and neighbors.
Betty had a full career as a registered nurse, flight attendant, Mom and Grandma. She had a passion for patient care, caring for the first AIDS patients and their families.
Betty loved her Catholic faith, as well as other churches. She found beauty in each community.
Betty, an advocate at work and home, also made friends wherever she went. The life of the party. Skier. Gardener. Animal lover. As a most loving and playful Grandma, she played football and gave diving lessons until dusk. She was a dedicated nurse to the end.
A Memorial Mass will be held on January 3, 2025, at St. John Fisher Church in SW Portland.
