Earl was born October 13, 1921 in Damon, Texas to Willie Harrison Davis and Ennie Bailey Davis. He was a former resident of Beaumont, TX and a 1940 graduate of South Park High School. He has lived in Lumberton for the last 31 years and was a member of Woodcrest United Methodist Church, also in Lumberton. Earl was a retired pipe fitter of local 195 and a World War II Navy Veteran, where he served as a machinist on a PT boat in the Mediterranean Sea. He and his wife Katie also owned and operated the Yellow Rock Square Dance Shop in Lumberton for a number of years.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife of almost 61 years, Katie Adelle Davis and sons Willie Earl “Bill” Davis and Jimmy Lee Davis. He is survived by his next of kin, cousin, Wanda Sue Neuman and husband Wes and family of Lumberton. He is also survived by close friends, Steve and Kay Martinka and family of Kountze.
Visitation will be Monday, February 14th, from 5 till 7pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, located at 4955 Pine St. in Beaumont. Funeral services will be held at Forest Lawn on Tuesday, February 15th at 2pm. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Martinka, Rob Deters, Mitchell Price, Jacob Harris, Dean Walters, and Chad Odom. Honorary pallbearers are J.B. Allen, James Reynolds, and Joe McCleney.
