Sally Dorothy Hoover, 84, of Beaumont, Texas formerly of Galveston passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at her residence. Sally was born December 1, 1926, in Meridian, MS, to James Stewart Bryan & Dorothy Myles Clark. Sally is listed in the National WW II Memorial Registry in Washington D.C. as a USO Volunteer and was a Red Cross Hospital Volunteer.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Meads Hoover and two sisters, Eleanor Wood and Jean Collins.
She is survived by her son, Mike Hoover and his wife Sherri of Lakewood, WA; daughters, Gloria Parent and her husband John of Port Arthur, TX and Linda Simpson of Galveston, TX; sisters, Barbara Brennan and her husband Owen of Pass Christian, MS and Becky Sullivan of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 3 p.m., with a chapel service to follow at 4 p.m., on Thursday, September 29, 2011, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
