Richard graduated from Vidor High School in 1961 and attended Lamar University on an Athletics Scholarship. Richard also attended Saint Anthony’s school in his younger years. Richard was a proud veteran. He joined the US Army and served two tours in Vietnam then joined the Navy for a third tour in Vietnam. Richard loved all sports. He was All-District in high school in football, baseball, and basketball where he scored 44 points in one game. He also enjoyed boxing in Golden Gloves and for the Army. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator before retiring from International Heavy Equipment Operators, Local 450. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, pool, arm wrestling, beer and arguing with his wife. He was competitive in everything he did in life, one quote he used often was “ show me someone who likes to lose and I will show you a loser”. Richard lived life his way, whether the consequences were good or bad. He was the life of every party.
Richard enjoyed his role as "Pappy" with his grandkids and loved to play with his great-granddaughter, Karlie.
Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristie Morris.

Richard is survived by his wife Kim Hill of Vidor.
Son: Richard Hill Jr. his wife Rhonda of Vidor, Tx and children, Johnny, Josh, and Jake Travis.
Son: Dennis Hill and his wife Lori of Beaumont, and children, Katlyn Hill, Piper Hill, Hayden Vickery, and Justin Kaiser.
Daughter, Kissie Wilbanks and her husband Tommy of Walnut, Ms and children Ryan and Priscilla Babineaux and Tiffany Orman.
Granddaughter: Victoria Gilcrease-Hill of Pasadena, TX, daughter of Kristie Morris.
Great-granddaughter, Karlie Hill, daughter of Ryan Babineaux.

Brother; Glen Hill and wife Kathi of Katy, Tx.
Sister; Sister Lou Ann Hill of Houston, Tx.
Sister; Barbara Trahan and her husband Clyde LaMarque, Tx.

Visitation for Richard will be held:
Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 1:00-3:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Richard’s Life at 3:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont, Tx
