February 12, 1971 – December 8, 2024
Paul David Gonzales, 53, of Nederland, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at his residence. A lifelong resident of the Golden Triangle area, Paul was born and raised in Beaumont, where he graduated with the Class of 1989 from Central High School. He worked as a dedicated hydro blaster and was deeply connected to the community he called home.
Paul had a passion for sports, loyally cheering on his favorite teams: the Chicago Bears, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Texas Rangers. A true sports enthusiast, Paul enjoyed collecting memorabilia, with a special love for mini helmets and autographed keepsakes.
Beyond sports, Paul found joy in music and attending concerts. He experienced performances by artists like Staind, REO Speedwagon, Linkin Park, and Gary Allan, but Rick Springfield remained his all-time favorite. Known as an animal lover, Paul’s kindness extended to pets, and among family, he earned the affectionate title of "snack dealer" for his generous nature.
A celebration of Paul’s life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the funeral home to share memories and pay their respects.
Paul was preceded in death by his nephew, Ryan Gonzales, and his brother, Chris Dominguez.
He is survived by his loving parents, Joe and Angela Gonzales of Fannett; his brothers, Robert Gonzales and wife Florenda of Nederland, and Victor Gonzales of Fannett; his sister, Deborah Haynes of Nederland; and a host of cherished nieces and nephews.
Paul’s kind spirit, infectious enthusiasm, and deep love for his family and friends will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
