Mamie was an independent business woman who in her younger days was an active member and officer in the American Business Woman’s Association (ABWA) in Beaumont and the Webb Historical Society of Lamar University.
Though she suspended her high school education to get married and begin a family, she returned to school to earn two Bachelors’ and a Master’s degree from Lamar University. She was an avid reader, a world traveler, and an amateur photographer. She loved spending time with her family and especially her many grandchildren.
She was an active member of Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Tyler before the difficulties of Alzheimer's began. She now rests in the fullness of the love and presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wayne Bogue of Beaumont and will be laid to rest beside him near the Neches River in Beaumont.
She is survived by her children Azmon Walker, Nora Smith, Kevin Bogue, Jerry Bogue, by her step-children Laurie Mozingo, Matt Bogue, Alex Bogue, and by her beloved daughters and son in-law and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
