Lillian Smith, 95, a fifty-seven year resident of Port Arthur and a resident of Lumberton for the past twenty-eight years, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Lumberton. Lillian was born in Abbeville, Louisiana on March 20, 1922.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gabrielle Hebert and Virginia Tomplait Hebert, her husband Harold B. Smith, Sr., three brothers, and five sisters. She is survived by three sons, Michael Smith and wife Cynthia of Lumberton, Harold B. “Pepper” Smith, Jr. and his wife Beth Ann of Colmesneil, Daniel Ray Smith of Warren, five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
Lillian was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family. She was a dedicated member of Faith Assembly of God Church of Lumberton who enjoyed being able to fellowship with all the other members. In her younger years she taught teenager and adult sunday school classes. Lillian also spent a lot of time being an avid reader.
