Jim was a resident of Vidor, Texas for over 40 years. A dedicated Christian man, he, along with his wife Barbara, attended First Baptist Church, and later Pecan Acres; he was an ordained Deacon. Jim was a gentle giant, he was kind and sweet. He never complained and took life as it came. He was quiet and soft spoken, and had the Mangum Mumble. He was witty with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed bird watching, but he loved sports; he would even attend the games of teams he didn't even know, dragging his family along with him. He was a history buff and could tell you everything about World War II. Jim was also a hard worker who spent 40+ years at Huntsman providing for his family, and retired as a Superintendent.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Mangum, his parents Owen and Bernice Mangum, and five of his siblings. He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Weatherly and husband Kirk, and Kayla Doucette; his sister Ann Higginbottom; his grandchildren Jim Weatherly, Ethan Weatherly and wife Janessa, Cameron Doucette, Cody Doucette, and Kayleen Doucette; and by his great-grandchildren Autumn Weatherly, and Hudson Weatherly who will be making his entrance into the world in just a few months.
