Jerry grew up in Beaumont and went to French High School. After graduating, he joined the Navy. After returning to Beaumont, Jerry began work in the auto industry doing everything from mechanics and restorative work to sales. He loved fixing up and restoring vehicles, as well as taking his family to car shows. But Jerry's true love was spending time with his family and playing with his grandkids. He also adored his dog, Sassy. Jerry was a kind hearted man who always had a smile on his face.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Darrolynn Ford; son Charles Cox Jr. and wife Vicki; son Tony Wayne Cox; daughter Jana Ford Day and husband Keith; and sister Jan Butler and husband Tully. Jerry also leaves behind his grandchildren Krystle, Cody, Kate, Hanna, Noah, Travis, Tyler, Alexis, Keiten, and Jarren, and great grandchildren Ethan, Graham, Luke, Kassidy, Nora, Evan, Madeline, Davion, Daxton, and Brynn to cherish his memory.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and son Jerry Ford Jr.
A Gathering of Family and Friends for Jerry will be held Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 4955 Pine, Beaumont, Texas 77703. A Celebration of Jerry's Life will occur Monday, November 23, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4950 Pine, Beaumont, Texas 77703 in the Parkview Garden, with his burial to follow.
Serving as pallbearers are Keith Day, Jarren Day, Tyler Cox, Kele Arteaga, Mark McCarthy, Noah Jesco, Cody Cox, Tully Butler and Chuck Alford.
