[Dorothy] Charlene Brown, loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend, passed away on December 19, 2024, at the age of 83. She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, and spent most of her adult life in Southeast Texas, including Lumberton and Beaumont.
Known for her dedication and love for her family, Charlene was a hardworking woman who spent much of her career operating her own wallpaper business, specializing in wallpaper installation.
She loved fashion, interior design and decorating, and her home--and her fashion sense--was always a reflection of her ever-evolving style and creativity.
Charlene was a vibrant and strong-willed woman. She was an avid lover of cats, shopping, and scary movies. She enjoyed laughter and often played jokes on her loved ones, delighting in their reactions and the joy it brought. Her sense of humor and playful spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Above all, it was her sons and grandchildren who brought Charlene the most joy. Her love for them was immeasurable, and they will carry her memory with them through life. She will be missed deeply by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Charlene’s legacy will live on through the many cherished memories she created with her loved ones.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Don Brown. She leaves behind her beloved sons Donald Brown and Steven Harkness (Joanne) and her beloved grandchildren Alex, Mia, and Sam Harkness. She also leaves behind her sister Patricia Ann Saulan and many treasured friends.
