David V. Lassiter, born March 3, 1946 in Galveston, TX, passed away February 9, 2024, at his home in Beaumont, TX, with his faithful dog, Gus, at his side.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin C. and Beulah Mann Lassiter, 3 brothers Calvin Lassiter, A.G. Lassiter and Charlie Lassiter, and 4 sisters Maxine Verdell Keeler, Kathryn Killebrew, Mary Ann Cormier and Cora Lee Twiner. He is survived by his only living brother, James (Jim) Lassiter of Silsbee, TX, as well as several nieces and nephews.
David worked many years at Gulf States Utilities and later at Coburn Supply Company, both in Beaumont, TX. In retirement, he pursued his dream of owning a nursery and landscaping company called Pik-A-Plant, located in Lumberton, TX. David had a passion for gardening and landscape design and was happiest creating beautiful gardens.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont, TX. No public service will be held.
