She attended South Park High School. She was into sports in every area and loved the marching band. She played the trombone. She loved being outside and being at the beach. She would bowl, play baseball, archery, golf, you name it, and she loved being outdoors.
She loved animals, especially cats. Any stray was welcome to stay at her house. Her favorite cat was Tessie.
Her best friends were Dinky and Carla throughout High School, and then Sharon Flory, who Christy was with until Sharon passed away in 2016.
She owned her own company called Chris' Place, where she refinished furniture. She worked in the refinishing company for over 30 years in the backyard of her parents' house and her home in Groves with Sharon.
Christy loved antiques. Carl and Chick, Carolyn and Clarence and the rest of the Gibb/Kirk family worked in the auction industry for many years and she helped them with the auctions and also shopping for the antiques. She was often found buying and refinishing them to sell.
She went to the beach every summer and rented a cabin with Sharon and all their friends. She loved her memories of laying out in the sun, visiting and hanging out in Galveston.
She is preceded in death by Chick Gibbs, Carl Gibbs, Sharon Flory, Clarence Kirk and Juan Fernadez.
She is survived by Carolyn Kirk and Carl Gibbs Jr.
A Celebration of Christy's Life will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Locale Garden.
