Carol Jean Wylie, 75, of Beaumont, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. She was born on April 1, 1940 in Port Arthur, Texas to her parents George H. Tompkins, Sr. and Inez J. Savoie Tompkins who preceded her in death. Carol is survived by her sons, James Michael Bradford of Vidor, Charles Daniel Bradford of Beaumont and Rudy Harrison Bradford of Port Arthur; brothers, Rubin Tompkins of Houston, Roy Tompkins of Comesniel, Greg DeRutte of Groves and Bill DeRutte of Lumberton; sister, Rebecca DeRutte of Groves; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Carol loved playing Bingo and thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the casinos playing poker, Blackjack and the slots. She had a passion for music and was always eager to attend concerts. The last concert Carol attended was one of her favorites; the Beach Boys.
A visitation will begin at noon on Friday, January 22, 2016 and last until 5:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park's Halls of Serenity Mausoleum with entombment to follow.
