William Everett Brewer

Pastor Bill Brewer was born January 12, 1940 in Lee’s Summit, MO. He was the youngest of three children born to Rev. W. W. and Helen Brewer. He grew up in Missouri and then moved to El Centro, CA with his family when he was twelve. They moved to West Los Angeles, CA when he was seventeen where he graduated from Venice High School in Venice, CA in 1958. He married Leslie on April 12, 1963. Two children were born to this union: Billy and Julie. Billy is married to Janice, and they reside in Imperial, CA. They have three sons: Jordan, Austin, and Preston. Julie is married to Keith, and they reside in Beaumont, CA. They have three children: Christian Joy (who is engaged to David), Cameron, and Caleb.

After high school Pastor Bill Brewer attended Pierce Jr. College in the San Fernando Valley and studied animal husbandry because of his love for cattle. He couldn’t escape the call of God on his life, though, so he transferred to what would become Vanguard University to prepare for vocational ministry (he eventually completed his degree in 1997). He became a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God in 1963, receiving his ordination in 1969. He became a Youth Pastor at Faith Tabernacle in West Los Angeles, CA in 1963. He then became the Pastor of First Assembly of God in Mojave, CA in 1966, and Pastored there for 5 years. After a short stint at a Church in Missouri, Rev. Bill Brewer became the Pastor of Faith Assembly of God in Imperial, CA in 1971, where he would Pastor for the next 34 years. He oversaw several building campaigns there, including the construction of two Church Sanctuaries. In 2005 Bill & Leslie Brewer moved to Cherry Valley, CA and became the Pastors of Faith Chapel in Mentone, CA. For the past eight years he has led the Church in a building program, and they finally moved into the completed facility in September 2016. Pastor Bill Brewer suffered a stroke in November 2016. Surrounded by family, he passed away peacefully at his home on February 4, 2017 at the age of 77.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. W.W. & Helen Brewer, by his in-laws, Bill & Midge Ralph, and by one sister, June. He is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Leslie; his two children, Billy (Janice), and Julie (Keith); by his six grandchildren, Christian Joy (David), Cameron, Jordan, Caleb, Austin, and Preston. He is also survived by his sister, Carol; by his sister-in-laws Judy (Norm) and Frances (Scott), and by his brother-in-law Bill (Jo); as well as by his nephews and niece Mitch, Kevin, Randy, Jerry, Greg, Tim, Keith, Kathy, Wesley, Jody, Andy, and Jayme (and their families). He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends, who absolutely adored this great man.
