Kirk Raymond Ellis, a native son of Southern California was born May 19, 1952 at Queen of Angels hospital in Los Angeles. His parents, Percy and Florence [LeBlanc] Ellis raised Kirk in Compton where he attended St. Albert the Great Elementary School, Verbum Dei High School and proudly graduated from Centennial High School in 1970.
Kirk had a long and successful career in the Information Technology field spanning over three decades working for First Interstate Bank in El Segundo and Macy’s Systems and Technology in City of Industry where he held the position of Field Services Analyst
Kirk was an avid bowler starting at an early age along with his best friend Dexter at Sportsman Bowl on Central Avenue in Compton and later in the 1990s on a team in the Kings and Queens league at Cal Bowl in Lakewood. He bowled the elusive perfect 300 game while in participating in the league. Many weekends Kirk spent his leisure building his own computer mainframes, listening to technology podcasts and playing Call of Duty Black Ops and Battlefield online. Kirk was an avid fan of televised car races and never failed to watch the 24-hours of Le Mans auto race. Kirk truly loved watching football. Not just professional games but also his favorite Chino Hills Bulldogs youth team, while occasionally working the “chain gang”. He enjoyed traveling to various destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico with his wife, family and friends. Kirk always enjoyed preparing gumbo for Easter dinner, inspired by his Mother’s recipe.
Kirk peacefully died at his home in Beaumont Thursday morning, July 21, 2016 at the age of 64.
