Bonnie Jo Murray

It is sad for me to report the passing of Bonnie Jo Murry, and happy to report the pleasure of her holding the hand of our Lord Jesus Christ in the early hours of October 29th. Bonnie started her life in a small town of Healton on July 12,1933, in Wayne County Oklahoma. Her father Odie Sullivan Wood and mother Opal Irene Wood moved her and her younger sister Mary Sue to Yuma, Arizona when Bonnie was 6 years old. She grew up in Yuma and attended the schools including the Yuma Valley High school known as the criminals, so called because of the Yuma Prison in downtown Yuma.

Bonnie and her sister made a quick trip to West Pittsburg California before her graduation and met and married her husband Ted. They met in June 1951 married in September 1951. She had turned 18 in July 1951 and Ted turned 21 the following November. They welcomed their son Richard on Thanksgiving in 1952 on Ted's birthday.

Bonnie and Ted moved to Glendora, California in 1952. Bonnie and Ted were blessed with a daughter Nancy Sue who joined the family on November 6,1944. Glendora was a wonderful town to raise children so they raised a family there. Bonnie was always regretting not receiving her High School Diploma and before her son graduated from Glendora High she took a class and received her diploma before he did.

Bonnie took employment as Retail Clerk at Thrifty Drug to help with funds as her husband became a Glendora Policeman. (Police Salary at the time was minable). She took employment at the Glenkirk Presbyterian Church in the Accounting Department. Both Bonnie and her husband were very in the Church and became Deacons and Stevens ministers.

Bonnie retired with a pension from Retail Clerks when her husband retired and they moved to Sun Lakes in Banning, California in 1922.

Bonnie became active in the Beaumont Presbyterian Church and she took a roll in feeding the hungry called Carols Kitchen and ran the gift shop at San G Memorial Hospital without pay. Carol's Kitchen then became Table of Plenty, the list of accomplishments are well noted. She raised two beautiful children that she loved and was very proud of.

Bonnie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
