William Jewell Henderson

William Jewel Henderson of Hankamer, Texas peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his family and friends on Thursday, February 18, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 78 years old.

William (Bill) was born on October 20, 1937 in Emhouse, Texas and grew up in the Highlands/Lynchburg area. He attended Deer Park schools and graduated in 1957 from Deer Park High School. He entered the Houston Fire Department in 1961 and retired as Junior Captain in 1977. He then went on to have a successful business in commercial and industrial construction and retired in 2000 to his ranch in Hankamer. He was a Master Mason in good standing of Walter M. Pierson Lodge no. 1339 and a member of the Houston Scottish Rite.

Bill’s passions in life were his wife, family, church and friends. He was an active member of the Community Christian Fellowship in Oak Island. He also had a great passion for hunting, fishing and cooking.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Clinton and Susie Faye Henderson, his brother John Henderson and his sons Travis Henderson and Ron Daniels. He is survived by his wife, Linda Leigh Henderson, his children William P. Henderson, Terri J. Finley, Donald L. Daniels, John M. Henderson, J. Keith Sutton and Michael C. Sutton, his grandchildren Samantha Fentress, Schlawyn Stockwell, Christopher Walmsley, Chance Walmsley, Chad Daniels, Matthew Daniels, Bradley Daniels, Shane Moman, William John Henderson, Reanna Carson, Jaci Henderson, Jessi Sutton, Kaci Sutton, Blake Sutton, Sara Graves, Kayle Graves and David Sutton, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters and their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews and his canine best friend Doc.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home in Baytown. Funeral services will be at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 10 am with Pastor Mark Pagels officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Baytown.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Daniels, Matthew Daniels, Brad Daniels, Christopher Walmsley, Kelton Graham, Chance Walmsley and honorary pallbearer Avery Henderson.
