Walter Columbus Copeland

Walter was a member of the Park Place Masonic Lodge No. 1172 in Houston, Texas and a member of Pipefitters Local 211 in Houston, Texas. He worked for Pipefitters Local 211 for 44 years. After retiring in 1990, he moved to Maydelle, Texas where he enjoyed growing watermelons and raising cattle.

He is preceded in death by his father, William; mother, Beulah; and sisters, Ruth, Lydia Mae, Dorothy, Eula, Betty Rae, Minnie, and Georgie.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Clark Copeland; sons, Walter Ray and wife Joselynn; W.C. and wife Laine; James and wife Sharon; daughters Gracie Gilbert and husband Lon; Debra Hutto and husband Richard; Cindy Thompson and husband Chuck; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 12, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Navarre Funeral Home with Pastor Jake Porter officiating. Graveside services to follow at Fabriguez Cemetery in Devers, Texas.
