Cove, Texas bids farewell to a cherished soul, Shirley Joyce Maley Griffis, who passed away peacefully at the age of 72. Born to Eola Caroline and Adrue Ward Maley, Shirley epitomized the warmth and kindness that defined her entire existence.

Shirley, a proud graduate of Barbers Hill High School, Class of 1969, reveled in the title of an Eagle. Her heart never strayed far from her hometown, and she embraced a life that was both simple and profound. Living in Cove, TX, from birth until her final days, she radiated joy and contentment.
A Legacy of Love: Survived by Family
In the tapestry of her life, Shirley was blessed with a 50-year marriage to her beloved husband, Jackie Griffis. She leaves behind a daughter, April Johnson, who will carry on her legacy with love and grace. Shirley's spirit lives on in her granddaughter, Aly Griffis, and her great-granddaughter, Bella Madison.
Passions that Colored Her World
Shirley found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for horses, all things Western-themed, and the timeless enjoyment of coloring books illuminated her days. But perhaps her greatest gift was the ability to connect on a profound level. Shirley's open heart and compassionate ear turned every conversation into a moment of solace.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Friday, December 15, 2023, at Navarre Funeral Home Chapel, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521. Funeral service will be held at 10 am, Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Cove Church of Christ, 7831 FM 565, Cove, TX 77523. Committal service will follow at Clark Cemetery, 1028 Maley Rd., Cove, TX 77523.
