Vincent Hooper, 49, of Highlands, TX, went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2014. He was a lifetime resident of Highlands, but was born September 15, 1964 in Baytown, TX. He graduated from the Kilgore Center in Baytown and was an avid movie watcher; he especially liked Star Trek movies and Sean Connery movies. He enjoyed talking on the phone daily with close family and friends and enjoyed many lunches with family and friends at The Teapot Depot in Highlands. He was also a member of First Baptist Church Highlands.
He is survived by his father and mother, Vann and Charlene Hooper of Highlands; brother and sister-in-law, Carter and Karen Hooper of Anahuac, TX; nieces, Kaitlin and Cara Hooper of Anahuac, TX; aunts and uncles, Elaine and Pinky Laird of Moss Bluff, TX, Emily Chandler of Kenefick, TX, and Jack Talley; cousins, Dean Laird, Ronda and John Windemiller, Delania and Ed, Clint and Sandy Chandler, Chad and Ashley Chandler, Dustin Chandler, Denny and Kat Talley, Lafe Talley, and Twila and Tracy LaBuff; as well as numerous other cousins, family members, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Treva and James Carter; maternal grandparents, Weldon and Ollie Chandler; uncle, Tommy Chandler; aunt, Barbara Jean Talley; great-grandmother, Lola Hill; and close friend, Jennie Robbins.
Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Birdsong, Dean Laird, Denny Talley, Lafe Talley, Clint Chandler, Chad Chandler, and Dustin Chandler.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church Food Pantry or Mission Fund.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Highlands, 210 N. Magnolia, Highlands, TX.
