Pedro Ortiz, born November 1, 1947, passed away on June 6, 2016 surrounded by his family and friends. He went to Heaven to be with his parents, Eulalio and Arcadia Gomez, and his brother, Rufugio Sustatia Jr. (Cook). Pedro, known to some as “Pete”, arrived in Baytown, TX in the early 1950’s from Houston. He grew up at the Houston Dairy Company Farm just north of Baytown. His greatest passion was fishing. He also enjoyed spending time playing cards, dancing and making his family laugh until they cry.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Mosley; sister, Rachel Ferreri and Arthur De Los Angeles; brothers, Tommy and Becky Balero, Albert Balero, and Eulalio and Tammy Gomez; daughters, Michelle and Benjamin Guerra, Stephanie and James Culpepper’ son, Carlos and Monique Ortiz; step-children, Stephanie Caraway, Travis and Tamra Caraway, and Nicolas Mosley; 8 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Christopher Guerra, Brandon Guerra, Joel Guerra, Johnathon Guerra, James Gonzales, Armando Sustaita, Thomas Balero III, and Alonzo Flores.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00pm with a rosary beginning at 7:00pm at Earthman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:00am at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown, TX.
