On Monday, March 6, 2023, our loving mother and Mimi, Mary Louise Campbell, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after fighting a courageous battle with metastatic lung cancer. She was a gracious woman who was as beautiful inside as she was on the outside, and her generous, loving spirit will always be missed.
Mary was born on December 9, 1949, in Picayune, Mississippi, to Gordan Guy Penton and Yvonne Lee Penton. As a dedicated employee, Mary had a long and successful career in banking, serving most of those years as a loan officer with Amegy Bank in Houston, TX, from where she retired in 2019. She loved to cook, enjoyed fishing, and enjoyed her time traveling around the world after retirement.
Mary was a faithful servant of Christ and a current member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, in Baytown, TX. She offered countless years volunteering at her church food pantry, serving on faith mission teams, participating in the choir, and offering prayer to many within her community. She was a role model to all in living out her faith, even up until the very end as she continued to share her faith with staff, while a patient at MD Anderson hospital during the darkest time of her life. She loved her family, only second to her love of the Lord, and lived her life grounded on acts of forgiveness, honesty, and integrity.
Mary is preceded in death by her mother and father; a nephew Chris Penton; a great nephew Christopher Clarida; and her dear brother-in-law, Don Romaine Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Campbell and his two sons Jason (wife Monica) and Jeff (wife Annie) of Baytown, TX, and their families; her devoted daughter and son, Carmen Perry Mologne (husband Lewis) of Magnolia, TX and Ronald Vincent Perry (wife Amy) of Booneville, MS; and her beloved siblings Herbert Ray Penton (wife Jodie) of Carriere, MS; Wanda J. Romaine, Baytown, TX; and Cindy Newell (husband Harold) of Jumpertown, MS. She leaves eleven grandchildren who were so precious to her - Lewis, Patrick, and Michael Mologne; Sara, Gabe, and Andrew Perry and Alex Moyers; and Josh, Macie, Kaylinn, and Alissa Campbell.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, sister, and Mimi; she will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
