Lois Alene James Matthews went to her heavenly home on November 21, 2022. She was born on April 28, 1926 in Houston, Texas to Robert and Alice Kyle and moved to Humble, Texas at age 2. She graduated from Charles Bender high school in 1943. Lois married Chester George James in 1945. Chester passed in 1985 and then she married Truett Carson Matthews in 1994. Truett passed in 2015. She retired as a bookkeeper from Crosby Independent School District. Lois was a member of Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist church. She was past president of the Julie Lottie Quilting Circle and also past president of the Ladies Bible Class.
She loved her church and her church family. Lois was blessed with two loving sisters, Elizabeth Kyle Reid who preceded her in death, and Bobby Lynn Crain of Humble, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Kylene Anderson, and husband Ronnie, Kathy Lynn McDuffie, and husband Dennis, son, Steven Eric James and wife Donna, stepdaughter, Jean Marie Heiskell and husband Grover, grandchildren, Lori Isaacks and husband Jason, Lisa, Thomas and husband Les, Brian, Anderson and wife Tiffany, Ali Blanchard and husband Kyle, Mary East and husband Justin, Joe Keating and wife Michelle, Tyler James and wife Sabrina, Trey James and wife Mary, Brooke Brock and husband Ryan, Matthew Heiskell, Trey Heiskell and wife Jennifer and 22 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons Brian Anderson, Asher, Isaacks, Brady Blanchard, Joe Keating, Tyler James, and Trey James.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29 at Earthman funeral home in Baytown with visitation at 11 o’clock and services at 12 o’clock. Graveside services will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
