Kaitlin Ann Smith was born March 11, 1999 in Baytown to Walter Joseph Smith, Jr., and Diedre Ann Dickey Smith. Kaitlin was 15 years old, and a sophomore at Goose Creek Memorial High School. Kaitlin was an active member in the FFA, she was the Vice President of the chapter, and was involved in leadership and community service activities through the chapter. Katie started showing livestock through the Sterling FFA Chapter when she was 9 years old. Katie showed rabbits, goats and lambs progressively since she was able. Katie began showing cattle when she was 12, she showed numerous breeds of cattle, and was a member of the Texas Jr. Limousine association, and the Texas Junior Shorthorn Association. She exhibited livestock at numerous livestock shows across the state including Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, and the State Fair of Texas. Katie loved working with her animals, she also loved being outdoors, including swimming, boating and hunting.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell H. Dickey, and Walter J. Smith, Sr.
Kaitlin is survived by her father, Walter J. Smith Jr., mother Diedre A. Smith, Brother Eric and his wife Mandi of Midland, sister Erin of Huntsville, grandmother Elsie M. Smith of Texas City; and many other relatives, extended family and friends.
Kaitlin passed away January 15, 2015 at her home in Baytown.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park, 10708 State Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas 77563.
Serving as pallbearers will be TJ Dickey, Cory Earnest, BJ Petty, Kenny Rogers, Seth Kennedy, and Austin Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be David Smith, Danny Newcomb, KayLee Wingate, Riley Latham, Michaella Organ, Dahlton Lambright, Alexis Breese, and Talton Adam.
