The Lord called Julia Keilmann Murillo Cox to a new life on Feb. 11, 2012, at the age of 97. She was born on Nov. 23, 1914, to George and Julia Keilmann in Floesville, TX. She attended Ursuline Academy in San Antonio.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 53 wonderful years, Felix Murillo. She was employed at Battlestein’s Department Store and later at Bride and Formal as a bridal consultant. She used her outgoing manner, good humor and positive outlook on life to dress a great number of Houston brides.
During her visits to Floresville, she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, former Wilson County Judge, Delbert Cox. They were married in 2000. They lived happily in Floresville, for two years until he passed. Julia was an amazing woman who truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. Whenever you spoke to her on the phone, you could hear music in the background. Music and dancing were her passion.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, George Keilmann and wife Stella, Louis Keilmann and wife Evelyn, Minnie Rodriguez and husband Adolph, Louise Sanchez and husband Johnny, Lorene Perez and wife Emmet, Ruby Cortez and husband Abe and Mary Ann Nustom and husband John.
She is survived by her son, Jim Murillo and wife Monica; grandchildren, Matt Murillo and wife Kim, Dax Murillo and wife Jennifer; great grandchildren, Jade, Jacob, Jonathan, Ruby, Charlotte, Avery, Harper and Adeline; Monica’s children, Angela Griffin and husband Rodney and Christopher Itin; stepson, Delbert Cox; siblings, Lillie Keilmann Dare of Sugarland, Rudy Keilmann and wife Marie of Devine and Robert Keilmann of San Antonio, as well as many nieces and nephews.
