Joseph Douglas Jennings, age 62, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2017 in a local hospital in Baytown, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Naurice Jennings and Nora Antle Jennings; brother, Curtis Neal Jennings; uncle, Rev. Father Neal Antle of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston; and grandparents, Bart and Mary Antle, all of Baytown, Texas. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School for eight years in Baytown, Texas, and was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. He was a Robert E. Lee Gander football player for four years and an All District two year Letterman. Joe was a graduate of Texas A&M University in1979, was in the Corps of Cadets in Company D-2 for four years and was Athletic Officer his senior year. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and ammunition reloading and target/bench rest shooting. He won numerous awards in hand gunning and rifle competition. He also enjoyed spending time at the family bay home in Smith Point, Texas.
He is survived by his brothers, Bart Jennings and wife Ann, twin brother, Robert Jennings, Paul Jennings and wife Dawn, sister, Mary Jennings Jordan, uncle, B. J Antle and wife Nancy and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers are Paul Jennings, Sean Jennings, Brian Jennings, Glenn Jennings, Dennis Jennings, John Jennings and Edmund Jennings.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00pm at Earthman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10:00am at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
