Joseph Clarke Brewer

He leaves his wife of 63 years, Peggy (Jones) Brewer; his daughter Joanna Crespin and husband Tom Crespin, daughter Cresa Davis and husband Charlie Davis, and son Joseph Brewer Jr and wife Sandy Brewer, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Joe was born in Meridian, Mississippi on August 17, 1921 to Willie and Elizabeth Brewer. Elizabeth Brewer moved to south Texas when he was an infant and both became lifelong residents. In his early years he attended school in Highlands and Baytown. After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School, he served with the United States Air Force as a Staff Sargent, returning to Baytown, Texas when his duty was complete. He had the opportunity to work for Humble Oil and Refinery (ExxonMobil) from 1943 until1985, retiring after 42 years.

He not only took pride in his work but enjoyed the friendships he and Peggy made while serving their church, Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God in Baytown, Texas. He and Peggy were avid travelers and made lifelong friendships in their retirement years while traveling with the Avion Travel Club for 30 years.
