John C Majors, 74, of Baytown, entered the world on August 23, 1931 and departed for his Heavenly Home September 17, 2005, after a long courageous battle with diabetes. He was surrounded by his loving family in his last days at home.
John was born in Shelby County, Texas. He retired from Texas Eastern in 1988 after 35 years of service. Many of his Baytown friends will remember him from his retirement career as a caterer for Bud’s BBQ with his wife Sue. He was a loving husband and a wonderful Dad and Paw Paw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ullman and Ellie Hutto Majors; son, Marc Majors; brother, Royce Majors.
He leaves to cherish his memory and will live forever in the hearts of his loving wife of 39 years Sula Mae Majors; children, Tom McDougald and wife Pat of Arlington, Kathy Danley and husband Charlie of Baytown, Johnny W. Majors of Baytown; grandchildren, Shanna Grimes and husband Sean of Arlington, Erica Dixson and husband Keith of Aarlington, and his baby Brittany Danley of Baytown; great grandchildren, Ashlee and Nicholas Grimes of Arlington; sisters, Eleanor Billingsley of Texas City, Jo Hatfield of Anahuac; and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday 1:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home, officiated by Chaplain Rogers Thomson. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Serving as pall bearers will be Charlie Danley, Taylor Griffin, Sean Grimes, Keith Dixson, Robert Peacock, and James O’Neil.
