Joanne Spell Andrews Baker was born in Baytown on July 1, 1942 to the late Harry Lee and Vera Fielder Spell. She was a graduate of Robert E Lee High School and was a lifelong Christian and was baptized into the Baptist faith. Joanne passed unexpectedly on January 24, 2024.
Working for many years as a bookkeeper for a number of area businesses, Joanne took great pride in her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Recently she was blessed with two great grandchildren and even learned to FaceTime with them. She also had a keen interest in genealogy and did extensive research into our family trees.
Joanne was pre-deceased by her parents, a brother Harry Wayne Spell and a sister Nancy Spell Brumley. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Merle S Baker; two sons, Voy L Andrews (Michael L Evans) and Wesley T Andrews (Kathy); one granddaughter, Kacie Andrews; and two great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Anna Hooper.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521 with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 pm at Earthman Memory Gardens 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521.
